Prestatyn High School – Humanities Block 3 Refurbishment

Brynbuild

The refurbishment of Humanities Block 3 at Prestatyn High School delivered a full modernisation of the two‑storey teaching facility for Denbighshire County Council. Brynbuild carried out a complete renewal of mechanical, electrical, data, and fire‑alarm systems, alongside new flooring, ceilings, fixtures, and full redecoration. A new staff kitchenette was also added to improve welfare provision.

The project was delivered to a tight programme, with the first floor completed during the six‑week summer holiday to avoid disruption, and the ground floor refurbished safely within a live school environment. The result is a fully updated, compliant, and high‑quality teaching block that enhances the experience for both staff and students.

The scheme also generated strong social value for the region, supporting local employment, Welsh language use, sustainability, and community engagement. With high levels of local labour, investment in apprenticeships, sustainable materials, and 99% of waste diverted from landfill, the project contributed positively to all seven Well‑being of Future Generations goals.
